A spectacular light and lantern festival is dazzling guests and transforming Milton Keynes into a magical Land of Lights this winter.

The stunning Land of Lights light and lantern festival, at Gulliver’s Land Theme Park Resort, began earlier this month and runs until February 26.

Thousands of families have visited the unique festival, which is proving a hugely popular attraction for Milton Keynes this winter. More than 6,500 early-bird tickets were sold for Land of Lights on the first day of sale in September, with thousands more snapped up since.

The festival features a one-mile-long wonderland of illuminations. Spread across 12 vivid dreamworlds, they include colourful, gigantic lanterns inspired by animals, mega monuments and wonders of the natural world.

Guests can explore the enchanting installations, which include more than 7,000 individual lanterns and hundreds of thousands LED lights. The experience features an eclectic mix of music and entertainment, and a wide selection of festive food, street-eats and seasonal drinks are available for purchase.

More than 100 people were involved in the hand-crafted production process undertaken by the American-owned Zigong Lantern Group, an award winning, custom designer and manufacturer of handcrafted lamp art that has grown to become one of the largest exporters of lantern art.

Justin Corsa, chief of the Board and CEO of Zigong Lantern Group, said: “We are proud to present one of the greatest lights installations in all of UK, here at Gulliver’s Land in Milton Keynes.

“Every lantern is 100% handcrafted by our 100-strong skilled team, and from design to installation it took about seven months to complete. The attraction comprises of hundreds of thousands of LED lights and more than 300,000 meters of silk cloth.

“Working with Gulliver’s has been more than a partnership, we have become very close friends, and hope this will be the beginning of many more exciting years working together.”

Darren Hoy, Land of Lights Festival Manager, said: “We have been blown away by the response to Land of Lights. This is the first time we have hosted the festival in Milton Keynes and there has been a great demand for tickets from people from the local area and beyond.

“Our magical mile of immersive illuminations bursts with colour, energy and culture and is a dazzling experience for all ages. We’ve been thrilled to see so many people have their imaginations lit up at the festival and can’t wait to welcome many more over the next few months.

“This is the first time we have had an attraction of this scale at our Milton Keynes resort over the winter period which is not only providing a family-friendly, colourful adventure for our guests but also extra employment opportunities which is a welcome boost to the local economy.

“In addition, working with the expert team from Zigong Latern Group has been a really enjoyable experience and our great working relationship has culminated in this fantastic event. We hope this is just the start of other things to come!”

Tickets for Land of Lights are available from £19 when booked more than two days in advance.
